Agreed a deal with us, then sold to someone else.

Don't get too excited . You may think you have bought the car of your dreams but if you buy it from Sussex Sports Cars , Beware!I put down a deposit only to be telephoned by the Owner of the company 2 days later to be told "Sorry, we have sold it to someone else" . " Sorry, my sales manager sold it without telling me ".First come, first served means nothing to these people. If someone else offers a few quid more you will be gazumped just like the bad old days of the 1970s property market (you may be too young to remember). My advice is to forget Sussex Sports Cars and buy somewhere else.

I am absolutely delighted with the 1973 MGB roadster (picture attached) that I purchased from Sussex Sports Cars. The car is in excellent condition and I found Gerry Wadman and the team kind and helpful.

I responded to an advert in Friday-Ad by Gerry (the owner I think) for classic car storage. I have a reasonably large collection of cars from all eras, and there are 3 in particular that I drive on a fairly regular basis, so wanted them kept nearer to my home than the long-term storage location that I use for the laid up vehicles. I've been collecting cars for decades, so am quite familiar with the storage facilities on offer in South East England but thought I'd give Sussex Sportscars a go as they are near home. Gerry and his team are a nice bunch of people who I enjoyed dealing with, but experienced in the area of classic car storage they are not. There was no cleaning of the cars before storage, no humidity controlled area, nowhere to plug in my battery conditioners, and no damage check in/out (their risk, not mine, but unprofessional nonetheless), all of which are the norm for classic car storage operators. It all came to a quite surreal end for me when my 911 Turbo was placed in a workshop for storage. over a very tight fitting ramp! The next day I moved my cars to a classic car storage business 3 miles down the road that have humidity control, check in/out, wash after every drive and all the usual things you expect from such an enterprise, all at 25% less monthly fees, as Sussex Sportscars are the joint most expensive storage option in the area. To me, it seems that Sussex Sportscars are trying to generate revenue from using spare sales space for storage, as that's the space my cars shared. And that's not really on if you are charging top dollar for storage. People will expect dedicated storage with humidity control, check in/out, clean after drive, etc. etc. So, a great bunch of guys who look like they have some lovely cars for sale, but I really could not recommend Sussex Sportscars for storage, as you simply can do so much better in the same area and for far less money.

A really nice company to do business with. I recently bought my first vintage car here and have been very impressed with Gerry and his very knowledgeable team. Problems were dealt with immediately and without quibble. Thoroughly recommend!
