A really beautiful place to spend a few days away from regular life. As a townie it was great to be able to see the stars again and, because the pitches aren't packed together, once the evening draws in you feel like you're in your own world next to your campfire. My only suggestion would be to perhaps stock a handful of essential items for when people get caught short.
We've visited this site twice and have never been disappointed. The kids love exploring the surrounding woodland and they make friends with 'neighbours' so quickly. It's a nice relaxing site and each pitch is set out just the right distance from each other. We even saw a wasp spider on our visit, hidden amongst the wild grass areas. Would definitely book again.
Excellent place to stay 2nd time we've been and has got even better now the tress and plants have grown. Pitches have plenty of space also plenty of wild life. Tim is really welcoming, down to earth and helpful. Will be booking again
Beautiful surroundings and wide spaces between pitches. Peaceful and well run. Lots of things for the kids to explore. The only downside is that the car park is so far away from some of the pitches. There are plentiful wheelbarrows, but it's a bit of a schlep.
We had a fantastic time at the Secret Campsite over the bank holiday weekend. The way it is set up is the perfect recipe for relaxation and getting away from it all. It's a small, friendly, quiet campsite where you don't feel that you are on top of your fellow campers and Tim and his team offer a very warm welcome. We were surrounded by wildlife, nature and bird song and the children spent the whole weekend in the woods building dens! We enjoyed it so much we have already booked to go back the same weekend next year!
